Emerging theatre artists Jack Southward & Lewis Grundy co-founded Trance Theatre to create physical theatre performances that surround and circulate their fascination and the exploration of the physical body., and the natural human instinct of what drives the performer to move.
Within devising processes, the pair turn to the working methods of Pina Bausch for influence,
and have dedicated their current work in progress, Pure, whilst adapting her physical language within performance.

Trance Theatre are committed to creating and devising physical work as the company embrace universal tendencies such as fear, risk and vulnerability within their performance work. Trance aims to entertain
and inspire audiences by combining elements of physicality and visual aesthetics to create ominous,
sedative and atmospheric live performances. Trance Theatre explores their fascination and also
the exploration of the subconscious mind and the human body, and through abstracted movement they highlight different trances of the physical body.

The companies next public performance will be

their debut showing of 'Pure' at The Media Factory @ Uclan. 26th April 2018.

Trance Theatre are currently located in Preston, Lancashire.
